Hi,

I just updated it to 10580 and now I can only use Microsoft Basic Display Driver for the display, so I'm stuck at 1280x1024 at best. My Radeon HD 3850 is listed under Display adapters in Device Manager, but it says "No drivers are installed for this device. " in the properties. However, it says that the driver version is 15.200.1060.0 so there's a driver but it's not loaded for some reason? Updating the driver just says that the best driver for the device is already installed. This has happened once before and after an update and I have solved it somehow, the HD 3850 is not officially supported in Win 10, but it has worked fine since january except these two times

Thanks!

Hi John,

Since AMD stopped support for Radeon HD3xxx there is no official Win 10 driver available. You can try to download the latest Win 8 AMD Catalyst to be found here:

https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy2&os=Windows%208%20-%2064

and install it.

To do so start the device manager select the graphics adapter and uninstall it. Afterwards you will have very low resolution but there will be graphics support.

Then select "update driver" (sorry I'm not running the english version of windows so I don't know exactly the name of this button). Then select to search for the driver on your computer and select the downloaded catalyst software. You probably have to try several .inf files in the display-folder if it doesn't work the first time.

After the software has been installed successfully you should be able to start AMD Vision and setup graphics as desired.

Good luck

Reinhard
