Hello All, I am using XPsp2 with a p4 2.6ghz 1 gb ram, radeon 7200 grafic, etc. While loading software MS office 2000 the computer magicly restarts with black screen (start in safe mode, normal windows etc). Tried everything and always goes back to blackscreen. Tried to repair with Windows xp disk and then I get the Page_Fault_in_nonpage_area. I canot even reinstall windows. any advice would be helpfull.

If you cannot even re-install it, try saving important files that might be on that harddisk using a linux live CD like Knoppix, or Kanotix.

As to solving the problem, I would suggest the following:

1. check if the RAM is ok
2. Check if your Mainboard drivers are up to date
3. check your video card drivers

Also, you said you can not repair or reinstall Windows. Have you tried formatting the harddisk before re-installing? (only format when you have saved all important files from the computer).

Hi there,

this looks like your RAM is malfunctionous. I had the same problem a year ago. It turned out, that "one" Chip on the RAM was broken.
This "Page_Fault_in_nonpage_area" problem occurs, when you copy or install something. The files cannot be written to the broken RAM.
Try to use another RAM or if you got two RAM blocks, detach one and look if it works.
