Hi Leute, ich verzweifel total. Ich hab eine Festplatte unter WinUAE eingerichtet und auch schon Workbench 3.1 draauf installiert. So weit so gut. Nun gibt es ja auch HD-Files die gepackt sind. Wenn ich diese entpacke und als Festplatte (ordner)boote kann ich zwar auf die Files unter der Workbench zugreifen, aber es kommt eine fehlermeldung beim doppelklick. "Unabel to open WDHLoad-Tool". Naja also ich das WDHLoad Tool von der Homepage gesaugt. ABER was jetzt? Dieses liegt auch in gepackter Form vor. Wenn ich dieses enpacke und auch als HD boote (ordner) kommt beim doppelklick auf die Install:"unabel to open ´installer´". Ich flipp total aus, sorry!!! Kann mir jemand in einfachsten Worten erklären was zu tun ist? Gruss RS p.s. kürzer konnte ich dieses komplizierte prob leider nicht beschreiben. Ich bezweifel schon das überhaupt jemand mein prob versteht

Eine Festplatte unter WinUAE eingerichtet ?
Ich habe das so gemacht:
Meine ganzen Amiga Klamotten als HDF abgespeichert dann diese ganze Sache auf Windows auf der normalen Festplatte kopiert und über WinUAE gestartet.Läuft astrein !
Kopieren, löschen, bearbeiten alles damit ist möglich.
Kleiner Tip: Mache die HDF grösser und somit hast du dann bei WinUAE auch mehr Platz sprich Festplattenspeicher mehr.
Wenn Du willst können wir ja untereinander mehr Erfahrungen aus tauschen. Meine E-Mail Adresse hast Du ja oben im Thread.

Was er meint sind wohl die Spiele, welche auf Festplatte installiert werden müssen.
WHDLoad muss oftmals installiert sein. Dabei handelt es sich nur um ein simples Programm, welches aufgerufen wird, um die ganze Sache zu starten.

Wenn der Installer nicht gefunden wird, suche den aktuellsten Installer im Aminet unter www.aminet-gui.de -> Suchen -> Installer 43.3 oder InstallerNG

Mein Tipp: nutze AIAB! Hier ist der InstallerNG bereits vorhanden, zusätzlich auch MUI und viele andere tolle Sachen. Außerdem unterstützt AIAB -> JIT (ansonsten jeweils konfigurierbar in den UAE-Prefs). Dadurch lädt der virtuelle Amiga in Sekundenschnelle.

Ich danke euch. Ich hab das Prob lösen können und werde denoch den Tipp von Samba testen und AIAB mal installieren.

Whats It All About?

AmigaInABox, is the essential download for all UAE freaks. To be brief, its a 'snapshot' of
a nice-looking Workbench, setup for UAE. This isnt just any old 'snapshot' however; every-
think here has been painstakingly setup for immediate use. The main archive extracts into
the WinUAE path, meaning a Kickstart ROM and a Workbench ADF are all thats needed!

For most UAE users the Amiga OS can be pretty daunting (and ugly). There is help on how to
get everything working, provided you can be bothered to follow the twenty-odd links looking
for it. You could try asking on an Amiga emulation discussion board, but your questions will
either get ignored, or someone will reply with "Get it off Aminet..." - which isnt much help,
since you're unlikley to know what Aminet is, let alone the site url for it! Well, with
AmigaInABox (AIAB) you can kiss to all those headaches goodbye, as practically everything you
could ever need is here - already pre-configured; MUI, Picasso96, Glow/Newicons, MagicMenu,
even applications to get you on the net!

Prepare to delete all those wierdly named LZX, LHA archives, and make room for just one easy
zip; this is *real* Amiga emulation, as good as it gets - this is an Amiga In A Box.

Installation (Note: A more detailed guide with screenshots, can be found on the AIAB site)

Win32 installer: Click the 'AIAB.exe' installer, follow the instructions, and make
sure you select the correct WinUAE path. When finished AIAB will
automatically search for Kickstart 3.0/3.1 ROMs. [Falke Swanke]

ZIP archive: Click the 'AIAB.zip' archive, which ought to load a WinZIP style
program. Click extract, and set the path to the *PARENT* WinUAE
folder. (Eg: WinUAE executable is in C:\WinUAE\WinUAE.exe, so
extract the archive to C:\)

Next, copy a Kickstart 3.0/3.1 ROM to the WinUAE\Roms\ folder and
rename it to "kick.rom". If you are a little uncertain, or just
plain lazy, run the "Roms\RomFind.exe" tool.

RAR archive: Presumably the same as ZIP...?

TAR.GZ: More or less the same; read the provided instructions.

MAC archive: Should be self explanatory....ask Garry if you need help!

NB: If you have AmigaForever, please read the Docs\AmigaForever-readme.txt file now!

1. Load WinUAE from wherever you installed it (Ie: C:\WinUAE\WinUAE.exe)

2. Click "OK" on the WinUAE gui - thats right, DONT FIDDLE ABOUT!
You can edit/load the other configs to your hearts content later!

3. After a short wait, youll see some text, and a prompt to press return.
Press return and a requester stating 'No disk present in drive 0'. At
this point you'll need to insert your Workbench 3.1/3.0 ADF: [The hardest bit]

3.1 Press F12 to bring up the WinUAE GUI.
3.2 Click the 'Floppies' page tab.
3.3 Click the file-requestor button (...)
3.4 Find and select your Workbench 3.1/3.0 ADF (ie: WB31.adf)
3.5 Click "OK" - the WinUAE GUI will disappear, and wait.

This disk will be checked to ensure it is valid for use with AIAB. If it fails
any tests, you will be prompted to try another disk.

NB: If you're using AmigaForever and dont have a Workbench 3.x ADF, please
~~ take a look at the readme in the Docs\ folder for a solution (of sorts).

4. Now you must select the displaymode you wish to use, (Its arguably best to use a
screenmode equivalent to that of your Windows desktop). From the Screenmode GUI:

4.1 Select a UAEgfx mode, eg: 800x600 15/16bit. You may have to scroll the
list of displaymodes in order to find a suitable selection.
4.2 Click the "No. of colours" bar, and scroll it to the maximum number.
4.3 Click "Save"

5. You will be asked whether or not you wish to add WheelMouse functionality to the AIAB
setup. AIAB will work fine if you click 'Yes', but dont have a WheelMouse, so dont
worry too much.

6. Next, you will be asked which iconset you wish to use for AIAB - either 'GlowIcons'
(the new look), or 'ProLite' (the old look).

The Amiga will pause, and then reboot. The next screen you will see should be a
blue patterned desktop containing several icons.

7. Read the 'Welcome' guide, by double clicking the icon in the top right of the screen.


Note: If this *still* doesnt work, make sure you let WinUAE detect your graphics card.
~~~~ If you are unsure about this, simply click the "Detect 16bit GFX modes" button in
the WinUAE display config.

Now you have a real Amiga, capable of running practically every Amiga application ever made,
from Personal Paint to Lightwave! This system is also an ideal starting point for running
the hundreds of HD installers available from Aminet - such installers allow non-dos, games
to be installed onto the HD for faster-than-ADF loading and usually better compatibility!

Vergiss nicht, das "AIAB language pack" zu installieren, dann hast Du die deutsche Lokalisierung. Einfach in die entsprechende Verzeichnisse kopieren (ich mache das immer mit dem Total Commander).

Du findest auch viele Spiele auf der AIAB-Page.
Wenn Du surfen willst, kannst Dir Dir den Browser AWeb ziehen. Der ist mittlerweile nämlich Open Source.
Für's IRC kannst Du Dir im Aminet "AmIRC" ziehen. Einen ICQ-Clone gibt es auch, auch ein XMMS-Abkömmling namens AmigaAmp.

Mein P4 mit 2,4 GHz bereitet mir unter AIAB viel Freude. Sysspeed bringt mir Mips, von denen ich vor 10 Jahren auf dem Amiga nur geträumt habe...

Nochwas: WHDLOAD liefert AIAB gleich mit, auch AHI uvm.
Allein die GlowIcons (wichtig für AWeb) musst Du Dir noch aus dem Aminet ziehen.

soll ich jeweils einlegen. Wo krieg ich das her? Ich hab schon alle Workbench Disks getestet. Wenn ich diese Fehlermeldung noch wegbekomme ist alles Supi. Die Workbench sieht ja aus wie ein Win95. HAMMER...das hätte ich nieeee gedacht.

Gib die beiden Begriffe OHNE .library mal in der Suche bei www.aminet-gui.de ein, entpack die Archive und installier die Sachen.

die nachfrage nach guigfx bin ich los, dafür fragt er jetzt nach render und die village kann ich nirgens finden. Naja wenn ich auf Cancel klick baut sich die Workbench mit der richtigen Grafik auf. Vorher ist das Bild so komisch. Ich denke das die fehlenden Datein damit zu tun haben. An meine Installation kann es nicht liegen. Ich hab jetzt bestimmt 8 mal neu angefanen und exakt Schritt für schritt getan wie es auf der Homepage beschrieben wird.

Bei mir taucht dieses Problem nicht auf.
Was passiert, wenn Du nicht AIAB bootest (also default-Eintrag), sondern einen eigenen kreierst und WinUAE ganz normal startest? Erscheint diese Fehlermeldung dann immer noch?

Stell Deine Anfrage bitte mal im Forum auf der AIAB-Seite.
Welche WinUAE-Version hast Du drauf?

Ich habe mir erlaubt, Deine Anfrage im AIAB-Forum zu posten. Ich nehme an, dass Du damit einverstanden bist. ;-)

jetzt bin ich überigens in der lagen auf mein NORMALES WinUAE WDHLOad zu installieren, aber ich hab jetzt Blut geleckt und will umbedingt mit der Mod Arbeiten. Schon wegen der besseren Grafik und so.

aber für heute ist SCHLUSS. Ich sitz hier seit 11.30 Uhr am PC und schraub am WinUAE rum

kann es sein das meine Workbench einen schuss hat? Am anfang von AIAB wird ja was von der WB auf die Platte gezogen?

Ich hab auch alte AIAB getestet R7 + R10b. Exakt die selbe Meldungen nach dem ersten hochfahren und dann natürlich jedesmal.

man müsste wissen welche programme da so alle installiert sind. Dann könnte ich meine normale WinUAE so aufmotzen und auf 800x600 kriegen. WDHLoad läuft dort mittlerweile einwandfrei.

Es fehlt nur noch die Village.library Datei. Ich finde die einfach nirgens :(

Ich habe herausgefunden, dass es mit der Picasso96 Grafikkarten-Emulation zusammenhängt.

Ich würde einfach mal, während AIAB läuft. das Picasso96-Archiv nochmal neu draufspielen. Da müsste die library dann auch dabei sein.

www.aminet-gui.de -> Suchen -> Picasso96 -> Picasso96.lha ...VERSION 2 !!

Müsste dann laufen.

Was ich nicht verstehe, ist, warum bei Dir diese Meldungen auftauchen, denn eigentlich liefert AIAB Picasso96 schon bereits mit. Möglicherweise hast Du manuell etwas in die Hardfile-Verzeichnisse kopiert (speziell Workbench)?

Egal, versuch es mal. Schau auch mal ins LHA-Archiv, ob die gesuchte lib drin liegt.
Ändere auch mal in den Grafikprefs die Grafikvoreinstellungen. Vielleicht bringt das ja auch etwas.

danke das du dir das heute nochmal antust. Hat NIX geholfen. Ich werde bekloppt. Ich hab jetzt unendlich verschiedene WinUAE + AIAB Versionen getestet. Überall das selbe Problem. An die Auflösungen hab ich auch schon rumgespielt (in der Workbench UND der WinUAE Gui).

Kann es sein das es einfach an meiner Workbench liegt und da was fehlt oder defekt ist? Wenn ja: Hast du ne dunkelen Schimmer wo ich eine neue oder vieleicht sogar die neuste herbekomme?

Die beiden Libs sind NIEMALS auf den Workbench-ADF zu finden!

Tja Samba dann weiss ich auch nicht weiter. Mehr als 100% an deren und deine Anleitung halten kann ich nicht. Irgentwo ist der Wurm drin und wir werden diesen wohl nicht finden :( .
