Driver für Token-Ring PCMCIA Adapter
Frage
Hallo,
ich habe bei ebay mir einen IBM Token-ring PCMCIA Adapter gekauft!!
jETZT WOLLTE ICH DIESEN IN MEINEM nOTEBOOK EINBAUEN:

Nur leider finde ich keinen passenden Treiber. Mein englisch ist nicht das beste und damit komm ich auf der Homepage von IBM nicht so recht kalr!?
kann mir einer helfen beim finden eines passenden treibers?

auf der karte steht folgende bezeichnung: IBM PCMCIA Adapter Token Ring, auto 16/4 credit card adapter...

ja Lutz da war ich schon danke!!!
Ibm hat auch einen Treiber den hab ich mittlerweile gefunden aber es gibt neue Probleme! Weil es ist wohl keine standart´Treiberinstalation!! :-(
Ich hab schon verscheide files runtergeladen nur irgendwie kapier ich das da nicht!?
du musst da irgendwelche dickimages runterladen und wenn ich das dann auf floppy kopiere und ausprobiere sagt mir windows das sie dort keine treiberinformationen findet!?

Ich hab den richtigen Treiber gefunden...
Dabei ist eine install.txt hier ein auszug davon ..
nur wenn ich auf treiber update gehe und dann den ordner auswähle oder diskette kommt immer die meldung das dort keine Treiberinformationen stehen?

steht doch in der Beschreibung:
WIN32SR.EXE
1. Download the self-extracting ZIP file WIN32SR.EXE to the drive and directory of your choice.
2. Execute WIN32SR.EXE from a command prompt to unzip the file. A path can be specified after the self-extracting zip file name in order to expand the zip file to a location other than the current directory (example: win32sr x:\<path> - where x is a drive letter). If a path is not specified, the self-extracting zip file will be unzipped into the current directory. Refer to the directory structure in the Additional Information section for details on the subdirectory structure the self-extracting zip file will create.
3. After unzipping the file, refer to the INSTALL.TXT file created for complete instructions for installing the device driver.

ist der Driver auf der Diskette ! Dann solltest Du den Adapter richtig installieren können.

Jop wurm das hat ja auch geklappt...
ich bin auch weiter!!! Angeblich passt der Treiber aber nicht!??
Was maach ich den jetzt?
Also den Treiber hab ich auf dieskette bekommen und auch installiert!! nur sag win2k mir das der nicht passt wenn ich trotzdem istalliere kann er das Gerät nicht starten weil er keinen passenden treiber hat aber bei IBm gibt es nur den einen der auf die beschreibung der karte passt die anderen weichen immer etwas ab?

ist Toekn ring mit ethernet kompatibel!!
ich habe gehört das das zwei unterscheidliche systeme sein solen...Das wär ja dann die lösung weil ich dann die karte eh nicht benutzen kann1??

TokenRing ist ein ganz anderes Protokoll als Ethernet, d.h. es ist nicht ohne weiteres kompatibel. Du bräuchtest einen speziellen TokenRing-Hub etc.
