kann mir jemand etwas über mst-files sagen oder eine gute seite, wo ich was finde????

Managing different configurations
All users arent created equal. Within your organization, you probably have groups of users who use an application in different ways. For example, the clip art feature of a publishing application might be critical for one group in your organization, but might also be taking up precious hard drive space for another. Instead of manually altering the default installation of the application on each users computer, you can create software modifications (MST files) called transforms. By applying transforms, also called modifications, to an existing Windows Installer software package, you can deploy specific features of an application to match users particular needs.
Die Datei wird auch beschrieben als:
.mst Microsoft Visual Test source files
und ist kritisch für die Sicherheit.

alles klar. aber wie sieht so ein file aus? hast du schon mal so etwas gemacht?

Ne, habe ich nicht. Diese Informationen habe ich aus dem Internet.
Jetzt habe ich aber auch gesehen, dass es einen MST File Viewer von Microsoft gibt für Office XP! Damit kannst Du die MST-Files in den Notepad Text Editor ausgeben.

Vielleicht gibt es so etwas auch für w2k?

vielen dank. hast du denn erfahrung mit msi files? ich probiere schon lange einige parameter einem msi file mitzugeben. wie würdest du das machen?

Die Windows Installer Files (.msi) können mit dem Orca Database Editor bearbeitet werden.
Eine Beschreibung wie vorzugehen ist, gibt es hier:

Wie gesagt habe ich damit selbst noch nichts zu tun gehabt. Ich hoffe noch, dass sich ein anderer Supporter meldet, der davon mehr Erfahrung hat.

eigentlich beides. mit dem programm kann ich das msi file wunderbar bearbeiten. muss nur noch rausfinden, wie ich die ersten boxen übergehen kann.

so, ich habe es jetzt geschafft. das programm orca ist wirklich gut. man kann die properties anschauen. wir installieren unsere software jetzt mit folgendem Batchanweisung:
msiexec /i "s:\acad\setup_inventor_r5\inventor\setup.msi" /le "C:\mcad\temp\iv5log.txt" /qb ALLOWDRAWINGEDIT=1 DRAWINGSTANDARD=ISO INSTALLDIR="C:\MCAD\" INSTALLLEVEL=7 SERIALNUMBERPREFIX=xxx SERIALNUMBERSUFFIX=xxxxxxxx UNITS=MM
qb heisst, das er es unbeaufsichtigt installiert. die angaben am schluss kannst du mit dem orca im msi file nachschauen unter properties. mit dem /le schreibt er dir fehler in die angegebene datei, falls er einen findet.
