USB-Problem mit SP2

Hi
ich habe einen ScanMaker 4800. Nach Formatierung und Neuinstallation von Windows XP Home
SP2 (vorher war XP Prof ohne SP1/2 drauf) wollte ich den Scanner neu inst. Folgende Fehlermeldung kommt bei der Installation von USB Device: Die Daten sind unzulässig. Inst. abgebrochen. Hab natürlich alles nach Anleitung gemacht. Microtek konnte mir da auch nicht weiterhelfen: "die Meldung kennen wir nicht".
Der selbe Fehler kommt auch beim Inst. meines USB-Kabels f. d. DigiCam. Auf meinem Notebook mit XP Prof. funktioniert alles prima.
Es muss doch also am SP2 liegen??
Unter USB Controller sind drin:
2* USB Root Hub
2* Via Rev 5 od. höher USB universeller Hostcontroller
habe diese deinstalliert und neu gebootet, danach waren die sofort wieder drin. Hab dann versucht über die Support-CD die USB-Treiber neu zu inst., kommt Fehlermeldung:
Die auf diesem Comp. inst. Serv..Pack Vers. ist neuer als diese Aktual.

dann gehe mal auf die herstellerseite vom MAinboard und lade Dir da die aktuellen Mainboard- / USB-Treiber runter.

Danke für den Tipp, aber wie bekomme den Hersteller vom Mainboard raus, habe keine Unterlagen mehr vom PC, ist ca. 4-5 Jahre alt vom Aldi (Medion), über Medion bekomme ich aber auch keine Updates mehr.

Hab die neuen Treiber inst., alle USB-Geräte u. Controller deinst. und neu gebootet.

ich verzweifle bald!? Habe alle Treiber aktualisiert, Bios, Motherboard, Chipsatz, USB, Scanner.
Problem besteht immer noch: Daten sind unzulässig
