HP Officejet K80 undicht

Frage

and the chat: "http://h20179.www2.hp.com/ipgemea/de/caller/chat.asp?productName=HP+Officejet+7110+All-in-One&productCategory=12019&productSNI=hpofficeje91473&h_cc=de&h_lang=de"

Introduction
There has been a recent increase in the number of customer calls for "leaking" Inkjet cartridges in HP printers. It is very rare for pens to actually leak, but more likely that the customer is seeing ink in the bottom of the service station, which is normal. In some cases, enough ink will collect to overflow the service station and leak from the printer.

Issue: Ink seen in bottom of Service Station
All HP Inkjet printers spit ink to clear the printhead nozzles at the beginning of each print job, so it is normal to see ink in the bottom of the service station, usually below the place where cartridges sit when idle.

Issue: Ink leaking from printer
HP Deskjet 900 series printers spit a higher drop count than previous products, making them prone to service station overflows. The service station may overflow when the printer has been in use for some time in the same location, but is more likely to occur when the printer is moved and tipped, allowing captured ink to spill out. This also may happen, though rarely, in HP all-in-one products, as well as the HP Deskjet 1220 and HP Photosmart printers.

Products affected

While this is not a cartridge issue, customers may call with concerns that one of the cartridges identified in the following table is leaking.

HP 15 Black Inkjet Print Cartridge

HP 45 Black Inkjet Print Cartridge

HP 78 Black Inkjet Print Cartridge

Resolution

Printers that exhibit ink leakage from the service station are to be returned to an HP authorized repair facility for cleaning, repair, or unit replacement.

NOTE: Regardless of purchase date or warranty period, all 900 series Deskjet printers that exhibit ink leakage from the service station (as described above) will be sent, free of charge, to an HP authorized repair facility for cleaning, repair, or unit replacement through January 2004. This is not a warranty extension. This only applies to the ink leakage described in this document.

Should ink spillage extend to the Two-Sided Printing Module (Duplexer), it too should be returned to the repair facility.

Is the cartridge leaking?
To determine whether a cartridge is leaking, remove it from the printer and gently place it on a flat, level surface. Balance the cartridge so that the printhead faces downward, as shown in . If a substantial pool of ink does not form beneath the cartridge (), it is not leaking.

NOTE: A trace amount of ink may appear where the cartridge touches the supporting surface. Do not test the cartridge on a surface that will be damaged by ink.

Resolution

Customers should return the leaking cartridge to the retailer in exchange for a replacement cartridge.

Has the leaking cartridge been refilled?
HP will not replace an Inkjet cartridge that has been refilled, and does not recommend the use of refilled Inkjet print cartridges in HP Inkjet printers. The use of refilled print cartridges alone does not affect either the warranty or any maintenance contract purchased from HP for its Inkjet printers. However, if an HP Inkjet printer failure or damage is found to be directly attributed to the use of a modified or refilled Inkjet print cartridge, the repair will not be covered under the warranty or by the maintenance contract. Rather, standard time and materials charges will be applied to service the printer for that particular failure or damage.
